SUPPORT THE CANCER PROJECT |
Here are many ways in which you can help support the lifesaving work of The Cancer Project: |
Memory or Honor Donations |

| If you would like to make a gift in memory or honor of a loved one, The Cancer Project will send a card to the family or honoree acknowledging your thoughtful donation. You may add a personalized message to the card. You will also receive a notice confirming that your donation has been received and a gift card has been sent. |
Food for Life Monthly Donations |

The Cancer Project’s Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Classes for Cancer Prevention and Survival are held in hospitals, supermarkets, churches, cancer centers, and other venues across the United States. Last year, The Cancer Project held more than 1,500 classes, reaching tens of thousands of people. These classes offer a path to better health and survival for people in communities all over the country.
Your support of these classes with a small monthly contribution of $5 will help us keep these classes free to participants, and you will be supporting the only classes available that are teaching people about food’s cancer-fighting qualities, easy preparation for nutritious meals, and how to eat healthfully for cancer prevention and survival.
To lend your support and become a valued Friend, click here or call 202-244-5038, ext. 366, to sign up today. Help us keep our Food for Life classes going strong! |

Special Events
Would you like to host a house party fundraiser to support The Cancer Project? Please contact special events manager Debbi Miller at dmiller@pcrmfoundation.org or 202-686-2210, ext. 340, for more information. |
Workplace Giving
The Cancer Project is proud to take part in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC #12133). We will also happily complete the paperwork for employer matching gift programs. Please contact 202-686-2210, ext. 357, or e-mail jkeller@cancerproject.org for more information. |
Planned Gifts
Gifts by will or bequests, both large and small, provide critical support for The Cancer Project. Bequests allow you to financially provide for your loved ones while also assuring that the important work you supported throughout your life continues uninterrupted. Other benefits include:
- A charitable bequest may place your estate in a lower tax bracket.
- Charitable gifts made through your will are 100 percent deductible for estate tax purposes.
Bequests (click here for more information) may be written as a percentage, residual, or specific monetary amount. Retirement funds and life insurance are additional methods for providing charitable contributions through your estate. To make a gift, please contact Betsy Wason at 202-244-5038, ext. 366, or bwason@cancerproject.org. |
Gifts of Securities
At this time, we are unable to process gifts of securities via the Internet. If you have appreciated stock that has been held for at least one year, you may wish to donate that directly to help offset capital gains taxes. For information on how to make this gift, please e-mail Betsy Wason at bwason@cancerproject.org.
If you have securities that have declined in value over the years and are interested in donating them, you may find it more advantageous to sell them first and contribute the proceeds to The Cancer Project, rather than donating the securities outright. This would allow you to claim a loss from the sale of the securities as well as the charitable gift. |
Car Donations
Instead of trading or selling your old car, consider donating it to The Cancer Project and receiving a tax deduction. We will take care of the paperwork, handle the towing if necessary, and send you a receipt. Please use our online form or call 866-332-1778. |
